Volunteer

Our passionate volunteer base is at the heart of everything we do. There are so many opportunities to take action: in your garden or on your farm, at our office or out and about in nature.

By volunteering with Trees For Life you join a community of like-minded people. From growing seedlings to caring for bushland and sharing knowledge, you’ll have a chance to create visible results for the land you love in South Australia.

Opportunities

There are many ways you can volunteer. Click on the links below to find out more, complete a registration form or call 08 8406 0500.

First, get your skills up!

In our workshops (free for members), learn to identify, care for and maintain native bushland. We train people in a huge range of skills, including: plant ID, ecology, bush care, seed collecting, growing native seedlings, working safely in the bush and more. Learn more about our workshops here.

Care for bushland

Discover and help protect some of our state’s most threatened species and habitats. Spend time outdoors with other people and connect with nature. Adopt your own Bush For Life site, attend a workshop or join a Bush Action Team and visit different sites across the state. Learn more about volunteering with Bush For Life here.

Grow native plants

Every year, landholders can order subsidised native tubestock through the Tree Scheme. You grow these native seedlings in your own backyard for them, with access to free training workshops and support from us, to help them revegetate. Learn more about becoming a volunteer grower.

Become a seed collector

Help protect our biodiversity by collecting seed. Every year, our volunteer collect and process native seeds for use by our Tree Scheme and Direct Seeding programs. Learn more about seed collection workshops here.

Fleurieu Planting Group

Join the Fleurieu Planting Group over winter and provide a vital service for local landholders who need help revegetating their property. Visit interesting locations on the Fleurieu Peninsula and help landholders restore their land. Register your interest below.

Join our nursery team

We have a regular team of volunteers in our nursery to help with filling tubes, propagating plants, looking after native seedlings and assisting at events. Register your interest below.
