Order native seedlings

Improve productivity and habitat on your property, or get plants for your school or community revegetation project.

We take orders from May-August for seedlings ready to plant out the following year. The cost of these highly affordable, resilient seedlings covers all seeds, materials and support from our dedicated Tree Scheme staff to assist with species selection, growing and planting advice. There are two ways to order through the Tree Scheme, you can choose to grow your own order or have one of our enthusiastic volunteers give up a small part of their backyard to grow your seedling order for you.

To order seedlings from the Tree Scheme you must be a current financial member up to 31 August 2026. Memberships can be renewed via the order form or online. Subsidies are available for select groups, please see below for the offers for our 2026 season. Please note - Tree Scheme orders close 31 August 2026.

Option 1: Grow your own

Receive the seed, soil, materials and instructions to grow seedlings at home.

What you receive:
  • Help with species selection
  • Soil, tubes, fertiliser, gravel mulch and seeds
  • A step-by-step instruction handbook and other helpful growing resources
  • A free propagation workshop face to face or online
  • Replacement seed to help make up germination losses
  • Supplementary seedlings from our ‘Back-up Scheme’ if you don’t grow your seedling quota.

Option 2: Volunteer grown

Request or identify a grower who will volunteer their time and resources to grow up to 500 seedlings (10 boxes) at their home. A small additional fee applies for this service.

What you need to provide:
  • Transport for seedling collection
  • Most volunteer growers are based in Adelaide. You’ll need to pick up the seedlings at a time and location convenient to your grower
  • Contact with your grower throughout the growing season, November to May.

Some Tree Scheme volunteers are happy to further contribute to your project by helping plant the seedlings they grew. If they agree and you intend to host a planting day, it’s important to plan ahead and provide ample tools, equipment and refreshments.

Please take a look at our Ordering Brochure for more information on the above ordering options for further considerations, expectations and to see which is right for you.

Materials are available for collection for volunteer growers or self-growing landholders in November from a local volunteer supported depot. There are 22 current depots across the state, get in touch to find yours. Please see our FAQ’s list below for answers to common questions regarding ordering through the Tree Scheme and other considerations for landholders.

We sell them in bundles of 100 stakes and guards which are available for pick up from our Westwood Nursery (May-September). Bundles can be pre-ordered through the Tree Scheme order form or purchased retail online or over the phone during May – September.
