Submission to Parliamentary Inquiry into the Urban Forest

Trees For Life has made a submission to the Inquiry into the Urban Forest by the State Parliament’s Environment Resources and Development Committee (ERDC). We welcome this inquiry as an opportunity to highlight the importance of urban trees and develop recommendations for law reform as well as practical measures that can be taken to improve the extent and resilience of the urban forest. As the background paper to this inquiry highlighted, Adelaide is losing urban trees rapidly, and a number of suburbs have an alarmingly low level of canopy cover.
