SA Bushfire Recovery

How you can help

Thank you for reaching out to ask how you can help our precious home recover from the devastating bushfires in South Australia. We’re committed to supporting our communities and native plants and animals over the coming weeks, months and years. We greatly appreciate you joining forces with us to take action for the land we all love.

Experience with previous bushfires has shown recovery takes time and ongoing support. The true extent of the damage is unknown and the bushfire threat is still present. The community needs the chance to work through the enormity of the impact, deal with immediate priorities and work out what needs to be done for the long-term recovery. It also takes time to determine the needs of our bushland and wildlife.

There are actions you can take now and in the coming months to participate in Bushfire Recovery in partnership with Trees For Life.

Volunteer at a Bushcare Workshop or Bush Action Team to build your skills to participate in bushfire recovery events later in the year.

Longer term

Become a Tree Scheme volunteer grower for the 2020/21 growing season

Put your name down to register as a volunteer grower and we’ll contact you in July 2020 with more information about growing seedlings for a landholder. Read more about becoming a volunteer grower here.

Bushcare in the fire-affected sites

Register to help our bushland recover once it’s had a chance to regenerate in spring 2020. Bushfires encourage mass germination of weeds and we’ll need volunteers to give our native plants a helping hand.

Planting activities

Affected landholders and reserve managers may need extra support to plant native seedlings. Register to help with our planting events in winter 2020.

Please contact our office on 8406 0500 or [email protected] to find out more.

If you’re a landholder in the fire-affected areas, and would like to register your interest for native seedlings and/or planting assistance please contact us.
