Three Cornered Garlic

Allium triquetrum

Allium triquetrum is 2-40 cm tall, with 3-angled stems and has an onion-like smell when the plant is crushed. The flower stalks join at a common point. Flowers August to November.

It can be removed by hand pulling (ensure the bulb is removed too) just before flowering or by spot spraying when the flower stems appear. It is native to the Mediterranean.

Do not confuse with the native lilies Burchardia umbellata (milkmaids) and Calostemma purpureum (garland lily).
