The Tree Scheme is one of our longest-running and most successful programs. Every year, people living in urban and rural South Australia are matched to grow seedlings for revegetation. Our growers produce hundreds of thousands of seedlings each year, which become the shrubs, grasses and bushes that increase our state’s biodiversity.

… or request a volunteer grower to grow for you
If you are a rural landholder, involved in a community or other environmental group, ask a volunteer grower to grow seedlings to support your revegetation work. This can be a highly rewarding way to share growing and propagation knowledge and get help to restore your land. Find out about ordering your Tree Scheme seedlings

Tree Scheme and seedling FAQs
Where can I order species not available through the Tree Scheme?
Our Westwood Nursery supplies professionally grown-to-order native tubestock and we are known for the quality and resilience of our plants. We grow over 200 different indigenous species of trees, shrubs, groundcovers and grasses, including many rare and uncommon species. Ask our nursery staff about bulk tubestock or special plantings for your land.
How does the Seedbank help?
Our Seedbank holds stock collected by staff and volunteer seed collectors across the 42 vegetation zones of our state. We hold over 310 species and 1,500 kg of seed at any one time. Once it is sorted, dried and cleaned, seed is matched to the orders from landholders or revegetation project coordinators.
